Dixon Middle School – Thursday the 8th – 6:00 – 8:00 PM

We will begin our communication skills class at Dixon Middle School this coming Thursday. The class will run from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Alpine District Mediations – NOV. 13th – 7:00 PM

The first mediations for the Alpine School District Truancy School will be held on November 13th, at 7:00 PM, at Lakeridge Junior High (refer to “Directions to Volunteer Sites” for directions on how to get there). Please come out and support this important program.

Sept. 18th Mediation Luncheon @ 12:00 PM

Recent e-mail from John Pace (Board Representative of UCCR for Utah County):

Dear Utah County Mediators:

It’s been a while since we have met. Last time was in January. April
was so too busy to set up a meeting; besides, the Utah Council on
Conflict Resolution, our parent organization, had their annual
symposium that month.

We are planning a luncheon meeting on September 18 (Tues.) at 12:00
noon at Carrabas’ Restaurant in Orem (on University Parkway in the parking
lot of the University Mall). Sandra Dredge, a local attorney who is
very active in divorce mediation and worker’s compensation mediation
will be our speaker.

So, please join us. Mingle and learn from other mediators in the local
area. Set the date and time on your calendars. I will send you
another email or two about it later on.

Remember, you do not have to be a member of UCCR to meet with us.

Sept. 15th Parent/Teen Training At BYU Law School

ATTN: All Mediation Students

There will be a parent/teen mediation training opportunity September 15th at 9 AM at the BYU law school (across from the Wilkinson Center).

Mediation News

New legislation will require more classroom hours (40 vs. 30) and more mediation (20 hours vs. 10 hours) for those desiring to get on the Utah Court Roster. This change becomes effective April 1, 2007. Click here for more information.

Volunteer Opportunity – Orem High School – March 22nd

That’s right, another volunteer opportunity for all of you procrastinators still in need of hours, and all of you do-gooders who want to bring some peace to the parents and students at Orem High School! The mediations will begin at 6 and go until 9 as always. The mediations will be held in the C-Hall at Orem High School. We look forward to seeing you there! All of the service you provide helps our program grow stronger and helps parents and students to communicate and foster understanding.
